Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 27: ‘World Tourism Day’ was celebrated in A&N Islands today along with the rest of the World. The theme for this year's celebration was 'Tourism & Peace'.

The main function of ‘World Tourism Day’ was organized by the Directorate of Tourism, A&N Administration at Dr. B.R Ambedkar Auditorium, Mohanpura. The Secretary (IP&T), Shri Vishwendra, as the chief guest inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional oil lamp in the august presence of the guest of honour, Director, IP&T, Shri Azharuddin Zahiruddin Quazi, IAS. The programme was also attended by tourism stakeholders, students and the general public.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 27: World Tourism Day was celebrated at Veer Savarkar International Airport with great enthusiasm by all the stakeholders at Airport i.e. Employees of Airports Authority of India, CISF, Airlines and various agencies working at Airport as well as general public to foster awareness among the community for the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political, and economic value.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 27: The Social Welfare Department vide press release dated 26th September, 2024 had invited applications from eligible candidates for various posts under Poshan 2.0. After scrutiny of the application, the list of eligible and non-eligible candidates have been prepared and displayed in the notice board of Directorate of Social Welfare and also uploaded in the Departmental Website http://andsswl.and.nic.in/socialwelfare/.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 27: As part of the celebration of Hindi Fortnight-2024, a Hindi Workshop was organized for the Nodal Officers (Official Language) and dealing staff of various Offices of the Administration and Sections of the Secretariat in the Conference Hall of the Secretariat today. Dr. Anil Agarwal, Secretary (Official Language), A&N Administration was the chief guest on the occasion.

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 27: The Annual Range Classification of firing practice by IRBn personnel will be carried out at PTS, Firing Range, Bird Line, Prothrapur on Oct. 1, 4, 15, 18, 22 and 25 from 5 am to 3 pm. All concerned have been warned to keep themselves and their livestock away from the firing range during mentioned dates and time.
