Port Blair, April 23: In order to enforce strict compliance of the National Directives of COVID-19 in South Andaman and Nicobar Districts, the Deputy Commissioners of the concerned district have ordered restrictions which are as follows:
Public Transport/ Buses shall be allowed to ply at the maximum of 50% seating capacity. Any person/ owner violating the above directions shall be liable to be fined to the tune of Rs. 5,000/-.

97,445 Doses of Vaccine Administered So Far
Port Blair, April 23: The vaccination sessions are continuing in more than 88 designated vaccination centres set up in different parts of the Islands towards the fight against Corona virus in A& Islands. The health teams designated in various vaccination centres spread across the Islands are vaccinating all the beneficiaries who visit the centre on a daily basis. Today, 2885 doses of vaccines were administered to the eligible beneficiaries by the health teams, taking the total number of doses of vaccines administered so far to 97,445.

Port Blair, April 23: In a swift Operation, the Indian Coast Guard on 22nd April 21, apprehended one Myanmar fishing boat with 06 poachers illegally fishing in Indian waters, approx 5 NM North West of Narcondam Islands. The boat was first sighted by Indian Coast Guard Ship Rajkamal on patrol off Narcondam. The boat did not respond to VHF calls by ICG Ship and tried to evade by increasing speed and random course alternations. However, the Coast Guard Ship successfully intercepted the vessel along with its crew at 0500 hrs on 22 Apr 21.

Port Blair, April 23: The President of Daily Newspaper Association of A & N Islands, Mr K Ganeshan on behalf of the association has expressed gratitude to the Chief Secretary of Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain for coming forward and addressing the Islanders through local media during a press conference organised on Thursday. In a statement to the President of DNA, ANI said that the move of the Chief Secretary shows his leadership skills and also exhibits his seriousness and commitment towards fighting the war against Covid-19.
