Port Blair, Aug 7: After having served the islanders in times of pandemic, majority of the crew members of MV Nancowry had tested Corona positive. There was no proper protection given to the crew when they sailed with passengers resulting in a large number of crew members becoming victims to the virus.

Port Blair, Aug. 7: Heeding to the demand raised by the tribal members of Nicobar District, the Director of Shipping Services, Capt. Aushutosh Pandey has assured that he will not be scheduling any ships to the district till the situation improves.

The PBMC adopts all measures to check the cleanliness like sanitizing the Containment areas, Quarantine Homes/Institutions and Vulnerable areas. These are apart from the routines in which team reaches out to every nook and corner of the city, clean up the garbage, sanitize the area. To brake the chain to spread of COVID-19, a strict enforcement is also being done by dedicated PBMC field teams by imposing penalty for not Wearing Mask, No Social Distancing and Littering in public places.

Port Blair, Aug 7: It is brought to the notice of the general public that, in view of increasing number of containment zones as well as COVID Patients, the Frontline Sanitary workers are also getting affected due to mixed waste being handed over by the Citizens.
