DIPT Develops Portal 'Million Photographs of Andaman'

Port Blair, April 19: With an objective to provide a platform to people, tourists, Islanders and others, for sharing beautiful photos of the A&N Islands, the Directorate of IP&T has developed and hosted a portal 'Million Photographs of Andaman' with the url https://www.andamantourism.gov. in/million. This effort of the Tourism Department will enable the Andaman Tourism reach far and wide and the A&N Islands get a further boost as a favourite tourism destination across the globe. It is aimed to have 1 million photos of the Islands in this portal within a year.

Port Blair, April 19: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor, A&N Islands to direct the concerned departments to install Rubber Synthetic Court Mat over the Badminton court of Vivekananda Stadium’s Multipurpose Hall at Diglipur.

Port Blair, April 19: The District Child Protection Unit under District Administration, South Andaman in collaboration with Police Department conducted an awareness programme on “POCSO Act” at Pranab Kanya Sangh (Child Care Institution) on 19th April 2022.

Port Blair, April 19: On 18/04/2022 a credible information was received that two persons were carrying venison near Coconut Plantation, Collinpur. Upon this, a team comprising of ASI Muthukannan along with PC Sasi Kumar Das apprehended two persons who were carrying white coloured plastic bag. The Police team checked the bag and recovered suspected venison weighing about 35 kgs (approximately) and a machete from their possession. The details of the persons are: Kamal Roy S/o Shri Kartick Roy (30) yrs R/o Collinpur and Pritam Singh S/o Shri. Kalu Singh (31) yrs R/o Manpur. Both the persons were detained and brought to PS Ograbraj. Later on, the detained persons alongwith the seized articles were handed over to Forest Department.

Port Blair, April 19: The Sikh Community Welfare Association celebrated Vaisakhi at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium. A cultural program was organized by Shri Mandeep Grewal, General Secretary of the Sikh Community Welfare Association and Shri D S Toor, President of the Sikh Community Welfare Association.
