Port Blair, Dec. 7: Firing practice will be carried out by Coast Guard at Baffle Range on Dec.8 and at Chinthe Long Range on Dec.11 and 27 from 9.30 am to 5 pm. All concerned have been warned to keep themselves and their livestock away from firing area during the mentioned dates and time.

Port Blair, Dec. 6: A 3-days Compulsory Training Workshop on Natural Resource Management and Conflict Skills for Forest Management for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officers got underway at the at TSG, Grand, Dollygunj today. The Zoological Survey of India, Andaman & Nicobar Regional Centre is organising the workshop which is sponsored by the Ministry of   Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. The Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Shri Keshav Chandra IAS, as the chief guest inaugurated the workshop by lighting the lamp in the presence of Dr. T.S. Ashok Kumar, PCCF & Shri Kamal Datta, IFS, Addl. PCCF, Department of Environment and Forests, A & N Islands, the guests of honours, and the participating delegates from different parts of the Country.

Port Blair, Dec. 6: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to address the issue of ticket shortage being faced by Islanders.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that the availability of tickets allocated under the Islanders’ quota for Islanders travelling to and from Shaheed Dweep and Swaraj Dweep has become increasingly inadequate.

Port Blair, Dec. 6: On 04/12/2023, Director General of Police of A&N Police, Sh. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, paid a visit to the A&N Police Dog Squad Unit in Austinabad. Upon the DGP's arrival, the Police Canines (K9s) presented a Guard of Honour. Subsequently, a demonstration was presented by the Police K9s, simulating a building collapse scenario to showcase their search and rescue capabilities. The K9s also exhibited their physical and mental efficiency by engaging in various obstacle and agility exercises.
