Port Blair, Feb 23: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has envisaged the novel concept of reaching  HSD to the door steps of customers and in line with the same, M/s. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) through its Dealer, M/s. Jadwet Trading Company on 22-02-2021 launched the facility at Port Blair to meet the demand of HSD from its customers, who are using stationary equipment like generator sets, earth moving equipment, heavy machineries used in construction sites, mobile towers, hotels and complexes etc.

Indian Coast Guard Rescues More than 80 Rohingya Refugees in Distress at Sea

Port Blair, Feb 23: The Indian Coast Guard on 22nd Feb 2021 has successfully rescued more than 80 Rohingya refugees who were in distress at sea after the engine of their boat broke down. Reports indicate that there were around 90 refugees on the boat, out of which 65 were women and around 14 children. The Rohingya refugees were on their way to Malaysia from Bangladesh when the engine had failed.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Women's Wing Conducts Panel Discussion

Port Blair, Feb 22: The women’s Wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) has launched a 10-day ‘Strong Family, Strong Society’ nationwide campaign with a view to establishing peace within the family and the society across the country. The campaign will run between February 19 and 28, 2021.

As part of this campaign JIH women's wing Andaman Zone organised a Panel discussion at the conference hall of J Hotel, Aberdeen Bazaar on 20th February 2021 at 3:30pm.

Port Blair, Feb 22: An Awareness Program on Alcoholism and Drug Addiction was organized by Humane Touch on 21st February 2021, 6:30 pm at Brindaban Panchayat.

Speaking in the occasion, P Mujeeb Rehman, President Humane Touch said that the organization will continuously work at grassroots educating the villagers about the ill-effects of alcohol and also make an action plan to weed out this scourge from the area.
