Port Blair, Nov. 28: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary to solve the issue of power crisis in Swaraj Dweep.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, the MP mentioned that Swaraj Dweep is currently grappling with a severe power crisis, leading to frequent and prolonged power cuts.

He said that the consequences of this power crisis are far-reaching. Tourists visiting Swaraj Dweep, a significant face of the Andaman & Nicobar Tourism Industry are experiencing daily inconveniences due to 10 to 15 power cuts. These disruptions are not only tarnishing their experience but also leaving them understandably frustrated.

AKS Srimannaryana of Indian Coast Guard emerged as the winner of Two Days A & N State Open Rapid Chess Championship 2023 organised by Andaman Nicobar Chess Association (ANCA) that concluded successfully on 27th November at ITI Campus. This was the largest chess tournament ever organised in A & N islands in which around 260 chess players from all the three districts participated with great enthusiasm.

Hundreds of workers from different parts of Port Blair and South Andaman areas participated in the Mass Dharna.

Port Blair, Nov. 28: The Pencak Silat Team from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands has brought immense pride to the region by clinching five medals at the 11th Pre-Teen, Sub-Junior & Junior (Boys & Girls) National Pencak Silat Championship. This prestigious event, held at the Patliputra Indoor Stadium in Patna, Bihar, from November 23rd to 26th, 2023, witnessed the participation of over 1350 players from 34 States/UTs.
