Port Blair, May 21: Shri. M. Vinod, State Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party has written a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Shri. Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister of India requesting them to provide anti COVID-19 drug 2-DG for Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, May 21: The vaccination drive is being held in A&N Islands. About 281 people in the age group of 18 to 44 years were vaccinated in South Andaman today, 278 beneficiaries were vaccinated at N&M Andaman District while 51 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Car Nicobar. The online registration for the vaccination is done through CoWIN portal and Aarogya Setu App. Online registration is mandatory and no on-site registration will be done and people has been advised to reach the centres as per the time schedule provided to the beneficiaries through the App. The vaccination is being done at JNRM Vaccination Centre between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm. The general public have been requested to follow Covid appropriate behavior while going for vaccination.

As per IMD the southwest monsoon is very likely to advance over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal around 21st May 2021 in association with the likely strengthening and deepening of South Westerly Winds over the region. Other atmospheric and oceanic conditions like conducive environment for convection, sea surface temperatures are also remaining favourable for persistent cloudiness over Andaman Sea and adjoining areas of east central and southeast Bay of Bengal around 22nd May.

All Tourism Activities in A&N Islands Suspended for Another Four Weeks

Port Blair, May 20: After reviewing the prevailing COVID situation in Isles, all tourism activities in Andaman & Nicobar Islands ie. National Memorial Cellular Jail, Port Blair and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island including the sound and light show at both the places, all museums, all beaches, Baratang Caves, all water sports activities and any other tourism activities in all three Districts of Andaman & Nicobar Islands shall remain suspended for another 04 weeks and it has come into effect from today (May 20), said the Secretary, IP&T, Shri Sunil Kumar Singh addressing a press conference today.
