Port Blair, Oct. 25: There are few heroic warriors among us who had fought many odds in life and today they are our society's "Knights in the shining armour". These people from common background rose to their prominent positions with consistent perseverance and became a role model in the society. To celebrate and appreciate such unsung heroes of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the Ministry of Youth affairs and Sports, Government of India in partnership with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Port Blair organised a grand ceremony on 22nd of this October.

Port Blair, Oct. 25: The State Institute of Education, Port Blair will be conducting the NMMSS Examination in A&N Islands on 17th December, 2022 under the guidance of Ministry of Education (MoE). The selection test/ examination will be conducted to select students presently studying in Class VIII for award of Scholarship under the centrally sponsored scheme ‘National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme’ (NMMSS) for the academic session 2022-2023.

Port Blair, Oct. 25: The Department of Industries is implementing a Centrally Sponsored Scheme ‘Prime Minister’s Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprise (PM FME)’ launched by Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan with the objective to strengthen backward/ forward linkages, common infrastructure, packaging, branding & marketing of products pertaining to micro food processing enterprises. Under this scheme, financial assistance in the form of credit-linked subsidy @ 35% of the eligible project cost with a maximum ceiling of Rs. 10.00 lakh per unit would be provided to Individual Entrepreneurs/ Proprietorship Firms/ Partnership Firms/ Farmer Producers Organization (FPOs)/ NGOs/ SHGs/ Co-operatives/ Pvt. Ltd. Companies who have established or propose to establish micro food processing unit.
