Port Blair, Oct. 21: In view of weather advisory issued by IMD about the formation of low pressure area over North Andaman Sea and adjoining areas and its likely intensification into a Cyclonic Storm in the Bay of Bengal, the Directorate of Shipping Services keeping in view the safety of the passengers and the vessel, the scheduled sailing programme of MV Swaraj Dweep from Chennai to Port Blair on Oct.23, 2022 has been postponed till further notice. However, fresh date of sailing of the vessel will be announced in due course.

Port Blair, Oct. 21: Due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions, the scheduled sailing programme of the vessel MV Dering for Diglipur via Mayabunder on Oct. 22, 2022 at 1900 hrs from Port Blair and her return voyage from Diglipur to Port Blair via Mayabunder on Oct.23, 2022 at 1230 hrs has been cancelled. Passengers those who have purchased their tickets for the above sailings have been informed to cancel their tickets and get full refund from STARS Ticketing Counters.

Port Blair, Oct. 21: In the wake of IMD warning about the formation of low pressure area over North Andaman Sea and adjoining areas of South Andaman Sea and South East Bay of Bengal and its likely intensification into deep depression and further into a cyclonic storm, all the Water Sports activities in A&N Islands shall remain suspended with immediate effect i.e. from Oct. 21 to 24, 2022.

Port Blair, Oct. 20: The direct recruitments proposed to be conducted by various Departments of Andaman and Nicobar Administration could not be conducted in the recent past due to COVID-19 pandemic. In the meantime, many aspiring candidates have become over aged and they could not apply for direct recruitments notified and to be notified in near future. Hence, there have been requests from various quarters to relax the upper age limit for direct recruitments notified and to be notified in near future by the various Departments.
