Port Blair, June 7: The Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) is an employment guarantee scheme which ensures 100 days of employment as a legal entitlement to every rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual labour. The Act made right to work a legal right ensuring basic income security to the rural masses.

Port Blair, June 7: Yuva Bharat Samaj Seva Charitable Trust (YBSSCT) has provided ration kits to the needy in different parts of Port Blair on 5th and 6th June 2021. Due to Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown in 2021, Yuva Bharat Samaj Seva Charitable Trust had undertaken initiatives to provide ration articles to needy families, who have been the most affected by the ongoing health and financial crisis.

Port Blair, June 6: Continuing to spread smiles across the children who are residing in the Child Care Institute under DCPU, SA the NGO Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi on the eve of Environment Day distributed sweet boxes to all the institutions through District Administration, South Andaman.
The sweet boxes were handed over to Ms Yashawani, IAS (P), SA by Shri Gurmeet Singh, Secretary, PBGKR.

Port Blair, June 6: Shri. Sanjay Kumar Singh, State Vice President & Incharge, Seva Hi Sanghtan - II, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands under the leadership of Shri. Ajoy Bairagi, State President has written a letter to the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration requesting him to address some burning issues pertaining to our Islands.
Sanjay Kumar Singh also spoke to the Chief Secretary over phone and necessary instructions to the officials have been passed by the Chief Secretary to resolve the issues highlighted by the BJP State Vice President.

Port Blair, June 6: The A & N Police is committed to zero tolerance policy against bootlegging and illicit liquor. To ensure that bootleggers and illicit liquor sellers do not take advantage of Lockdown, a close vigil has been kept over the bootleggers and of late the numerous raids have been conducted in various parts of the South Andaman district.
Though Police resources are over stretched and police is working 24x7 to enforce lockdown to contain and break the chain of Corona virus but there is absolutely no compromise on the issue of bootlegging. Rather, stringent surveillance is being kept over these activities against bootlegging and illicit liquor.
