On the occasion of Labour Day or International Workers' Day, I extend my best wishes to the workers and labourers.  May Day is observed each year on the first day of May to celebrate achievements of the working class.

Port Blair, April 30: The District Administration is working on war footing to contain the spread of Covid-19 and limiting the number of cases in South Andaman District and has taken various proactive and necessary measures/ precautions in order to   bring this pandemic to a halt.

District Control Room is working 24/7 tirelessly to redress public grievances related to Covid-19 including door to door delivery of medicine, Home Quarantine and Field Surveillance. It has also been carrying out follow up on Covid-19 patients and ILI/SARI patients. In these difficult circumstances due to pandemic, our priority is to solve each and every grievance.

Port Blair, April 30: A COVID -19 awareness drive was conducted at Mohanpura STS Bus stand and Mohanpura market by the members of REVIVE. During the drive, details about COVID-19 appropriate behavior such as washing hands, importance of wearing masks and social distancing was explained to the general public. The members also motivated people to get vaccinated. Apart from the REVIVE team, Police personnel who joined the drive also provided information regarding COVID protocols.

1, 08, 597 Doses of Covishield Vaccine Administered So Far

Port Blair, April 30: vaccination drive is continuing in A&N Islands in an effective manner and health teams designated in various vaccination centres spread across the Islands are vaccinating all the beneficiaries above 45+ of age who visit the centres spread over the A&N Islands on a daily basis. The vaccination sessions are continuing in more than 88 designated vaccination centres set up in different parts of the Islands towards the fight against Corona virus in A& Islands. 1426 doses of COVISHIELD vaccines were administered to the eligible beneficiaries by the health teams today (April, 30), taking the total number of doses of vaccines administered so far to 1,08, 597. 

Port Blair, April 30: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Andaman & Nicobar Islands organised a Blood Donation Camp on 27th April 2021 as part of #BJYMCares Seva Hi Sanghathan Abhiyan - 2 at G.B Pant Hospital.

The blood donation camp was organised keeping in view that the vaccination for 18+ is soon starting in our country and after vaccination one can only donate blood after 28 days as per protocol.
