Port Blair, Nov 16:  Like every year, National Press Day was celebrated befittingly in these islands on Tuesday. To mark the occasion, a function was organized by the Daily Newspaper Association (Proposed) at a prominent city hotel here. Mr. K Ganeshan, Chief Editor, The Andaman Express was the chief guest while Guests of Honour were Mr. Anadiranjan Biswas, Editor News Spotlight and Mr. Yadasiri Rao, The Mini India on the occasion. Journalists from various print media participated in the celebration and expressed their views and opinions on the media policies of the UT administration.

Port Blair, Nov. 16: A team of Food Safety Officers of the South Andaman, District Administration inspected a number of food vending establishments around the city and carried out tests to check the Total Polar Compounds (TPC) in cooking oil used for preparation of food articles.

New Delhi, Nov. 15: The United States remains a top destination for international students, welcoming over 914,000 international students from over 200 places of origin, according to the 2021 Open Doors Report.  Indian students comprised nearly 20 percent of this number, with 167,582 students in the 2020-2021 academic year.  In fact, the United States remained open and welcoming to international students throughout the global COVID-19 pandemic.  Last year, the U.S. government and U.S. higher-education institutions implemented measures to safely welcome international students in person, online, and via hybrid learning methods, guaranteeing that opportunities and resources to international students remained robust.

Port Blair, Nov. 16: The union Cabinet Chaired by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on November 10, 2021 approved declaration of JANJATIYA GAURAV DIWAS to commemorate the brave tribal freedom fighters as part of the year-long celebrations of 75years of India's Independence (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav). The date November 15 also marks the birth Anniversary date of Birsa Munda who is revered as God by Tribal Communities across India. Bhagwan Birsa Munda fought for India's Independence against the exploitative system of British Colonial system and spearheaded movement.
