Port Blair, Feb 12: The District Legal Services Authority, Andaman & Nicobar Islands held National Lok Adalats in the District Court Building, Port Blair, ADR centre-PRAYAS", Port Blair and Sub-Divisional Court Complex at Mayabunder and Diglipur today by adopting all COVID SOPs issued by the MHA from time to time.
The Judicial Officers of this judgeship were present to mark the commencement of the National Lok Adalat at Port Blair, Mayabunder and Diglipur.

Port Blair, Feb 12: Dulari Scheme, a Govt. of India scheme, envisions encouraging birth of girl child, is being implemented as a plan scheme effectively in A&N Islands. Launched on Jan. 26, 2013 in A&N Islands, the scheme is aimed at reducing the gap in sex ratio to the replacement level of Net Reproduction Rate (NRR) i.e. 1 by ten years after implementation of the scheme whichever is earlier. Implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) of Dulari Scheme has been successfully completed on online mode in the Isles.

Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has deeply mourned the demise of Shri. K L Manikandan, age 52 years, Physical Education Teacher in the Govt. Sen. Sec. School Manarghat, who has unfortunately met with a road accident on 10th of February 2023.
He prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and for enough strength for the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.

Port Blair, Feb. 10: Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (Disaster Management), A&N Administration reviewed the fire safety and disaster preparedness measures of Hotels and Restaurants of Port Blair during a meeting held today in his chamber with the President and other members of Hotelier Association of Port Bair and Officers of A&N Police, A&N Police Fire Services and Health Department. While taking stock of preparedness and safety measures, the Director (DM) urged the Hotelier Association of Port Bair to make all necessary fire safety measures, prepare Standard Operating Procedures, evacuation routes with proper signage and provide disaster management trainings to the personnel of Hotels and Restaurants to manage any emergency situation and crisis by the Hotels and Restaurants of A&N Islands itself.
