Port Blair, April 22: The Police Training School, Prothrapur witnessed a momentous occasion today on 22/04/2024, as Probationer Sub-Inspectors, PMT (Police Motor Transport) of Andaman & Nicobar Police took their oath in a solemn ceremony, symbolizing the culmination of their rigorous training and unwavering dedication.

Shri. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands graced the occasion with his august presence as the Chief Guest of the ceremony. Smti. Sindhu Pillai. A, IPS, Inspector General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Smti. Monika Bhardwaj, IPS, DIGP (Training), other Senior Officers of A & N Police and the proud family members of the trainees attended the function.

Port Blair, April 22: The Atal Centre for Ocean Science and Technology for Islands (ACOSTI), NIOT celebrated World Earth Day at Port Blair to recognize the importance of global climate change affecting marine life. The World Earth Day celebration showcased the talent of school students who actively participated in drawing and slogan/song competitions at ACOSTI, NIOT campus at Dollygunj. Nearly 40 students from St. Mary’s School enthusiastically participated in the competitions. 

Port Blair/Mumbai, April 22: National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), the world’s No 1 derivatives exchange in the year 2023 based on contracts traded, has received approval for Derivatives on Nifty Next 50 index (NIFTYNXT50) from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and will launch these contracts from April 24, 2024.

Port Blair, April 22: To mark the World Earth Day 2024, the Andaman Avians Club spearheaded a highly successful beach clean-up initiative at Chidiyatapu Sunset Point. The event was attended by club members and their families as well as volunteers from Reef Watch and local communities. During the event the local public and tourists were highlighted about the crucial theme of "Planet vs Plastic."

Port Blair, April 22: All concerned have been informed that the Election Commission of India has notified the period between 7 am on 19th April, 2024 (Friday) and 6.30 pm on 1st June, 2024 (Saturday) as the period during which conducting and publishing or publicising exit poll by means of the print or electronic media or dissemination in manner whatsoever, the result of any exit poll in connection with the General Elections-2024, shall be prohibited.
