Kamorta, Aug. 5: A defence personnel from INS Kardip was admitted in the Community Health Centre at Kamorta Island on 1st of August 2020. As his condition deteriorated, INS Kardip shifted the patients to Port Blair on the third day to INHS Dhanvantri, where he was tested Corona Positive.

Port Blair, Aug 5: Rotary Club of Port Blair has decided to initiate a ‘Connect for Covid’ Support Tele-Centre, where prospective callers may seek help from a panel of Doctors regarding matters related to their health and wellbeing. The expert panel comprises of over 20+ doctors with varying specialities, including psychiatry. This was conceived in view of the current pandemic, to provide additional support to islanders and reduce the pressures on existing medical infrastructure.

Port Blair, Aug 5: The Chennai-Andaman and Nicobar Islands Submarine Cable System (CANI-SMCP) is scheduled to be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on 10th of August 2020. The project aims at providing better communication and internet connectivity to the entire Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Port Blair, Aug 5: The Rotary Club of Port Blair has donated 100 mattresses to the Emergency Covid Centre at ITI, Dollygunj. Under the leadership of its President, Rtn. Faisal Jadwet and Secretary Rtn. Amar Gupta, the mattresses were swiftly collected and delivered.
