INTER ISLAND SECTOR:

MV Chowra will sail for Nancowry via Car Nicobar, Chowra, Teressa & Katchal on 29.04.2022 (Fri) at 0900 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail for Port Blair on 02.05.2022 (Mon) at 0500 Hrs from Nancowry via same route.

Passenger Tickets for onward journey will be issued on 29.04.2022 at Haddo Wharf two hours prior to the departure time of the vessel based on the list provided by Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Port Blair and also after due verification of COVID Test Certificate and Islander Card/Local Certificate/Tribal Pass etc.

MV Coral Queen will sail for Campbell Bay via Nancowry on 30.04.2022 (Sat) at 0900 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail for Port Blair on 02.05.2022 (Mon) at 0900 Hrs from Campbell Bay via Nancowry.

Port Blair, April 25: Under the guidance of Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain, for the safety and security of the Islands, the Labour Department has started registering all the Migrant Workers arriving in the Islands. A Help Desk by the Department in this context has been set up at Veer Savarkar International Airport and Harbours in order to verify the workers arriving in the Islands. With the commencement of the process, more than 150 workers have been verified and registered in three days’ time.    The entire process is being carried out by the Labour Department in collaboration with the DC Office and Police Department.

Port Blair April 25: Humsafar India in league with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has introduced its App based doorstep diesel service in Andaman and Nicobar islands both in bulk and 20 litre jerrycans .

 “The main aim of launching this service in Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar and major adjoining inhabited islands is to ease the lives of the end consumers by avoiding the hassle of procuring diesel. The government has approved this doorstep diesel delivery system and has proved to be the new age concept of effectively distributing diesel. It aids fuel start-ups to maintain quality and create the availability of fuel for the consumers. This system aims to benefit various industries such as marine, agriculture, tourism, wood, coir, shipping, hospitals, housing societies, heavy machinery facilities, mobile towers and much more.” said Ms. Sanya Goel, Founder Director, Humsafar India.

Port Blair, April 25: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration to make necessary arrangements to bring all teachers to Port Blair/place of residence after Summer Vacation commences by providing special ships and buses.

Port Blair, April 25: The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Jitendra Narain has recently directed the Tourism Department to issue Expression of Interests (EOIs) for events and activities related to development and promotion of Tourism in A&N Islands. In line with this initiative, the Directorate of Tourism held a meeting with representatives of Water Sports Operators, Boat Association and Tour Operators to brief them about the EOI to be floated by the Department. The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Special Secretary (IP&T), Shri Hari Kallikkat. The Director, IP&T, Shri Alok Kumar also attended the meeting.
