Port Blair, April 28: During the RT-PCR test conducted on 109 passengers who arrived here yesterday, no positive case has been detected. Today, 10 flights with 1323 passengers arrived, out of which, 1139 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 127 passengers and the reports are awaited.

More than 300 Apprenticeship Jobs Provided on Spot
Port Blair, April 26: The Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), A&N Administration, Dollygunj in association with the Director General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), GoI has organized a day long National Apprenticeship Mela on 26.04.2022 wherein Shri Hari Kallikkat, IAS, Secretary (Labour, Employment & Training) was Chief Guest, while Shri B.V.S Seshacharya, Director, Regional Directorate of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (RSDE), MSDE, GoI, Chennai was Guest of Honor. More than 47 establishments of Govt/Pvt sector as well as 1500 aspirational candidates were present. A total of around 300 apprenticeship opportunities made available during the mela. Once participated establishments are onboarded on apprenticeship India portal more apprenticeship opportunities to be made available for interested aspirants of these Islands. The entire events of the program hosted at ITI, Dollygunj was live streamed to the ITI, Arong, Car Nicobar and VTI, Bakuntala, Rangat.

Port Blair, April 27: The Member of Parliament, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to make NCC compulsory in India at college level so that youths develop a sense of Duty, Commitment, Dedication, Discipline, Moral Values and love for mother India at college level.

DM South Andaman Issues Order
Port Blair, April 27: In view of the evolving COVID-19 scenario in the mainland as well in the Islands, the District Magistrate, South Andaman, Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS today in an Order has directed that all persons should maintain COVID appropriate behaviour and also wear face mask/covers in public places in South Andaman District as a precautionary measure with effect from 28.04.2022 till further orders.
