Port Blair, Sept. 9: The Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council, Shri. N.K. Udhaya Kumar today appreciated the efforts taken by the Deputy Commissioner (SA) Shri.Suneel Anchipaka, IAS through his good office after the UNLOCK-4. The Deputy Commissioner has personally worked on the ground and has issued many orders, which directly benefited the general public.

The extension in timing of shops and other establishments has also drawn appreciation from many quarters of the society particularly the small businessman community. The District Administration is reaching out to the door steps of the general public in delivering services and ensuring the safety of the general public.

The Deputy Commissioner’s recent campaign to contain COVID-19 is a striking act during which, the Deputy Commissioner  (SA) alongwith members of ACCI and local volunteers distributed masks to the general public at Junglighat. Awareness programe was also conducted at Machi Basthi, Dairy farm actively involving community volunteers.

“The District Administration has left no stone unturned to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the General Public. Further the DC (SA) is always available for the Public and Elected representatives to listen to their complaints and issue and short out the same as early as possible”, said Udhaya Kumar.

The Civic Chief also met the DGP A&N Islands and discussed various issues regarding traffic and other allied issues. The Chairperson also appreciated various awareness programs initiated by the A&N Police for the general public. On behalf of Port Blair Municipal Council, the Chairperson expressed his gratitude for the tireless works rendered by the police force during this difficult phase. The Police personals have rendered their service in every front in an active and dignified manner.
