Port Blair, Sept. 13: As a part of zero tolerance towards encroachment in South Andaman District, the Revenue Department is continuously removing encroachments from the Govt. Land. Various eviction drives have been conducted in the past three weeks and a large chunk of land has been cleared, where encroachments were committed on Government Lands including places like Little Andaman, Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep.

During the eviction drives, encroachments in the shape of fencing and temporary sheds were removed and an area of 70850 Sqmtrs of land has been restored in the Govt. Khata.

The Tehsil Office, Port Blair conducted eviction drives at Garacharma (Attam Pahad area), Brookshabad, South Point, School Line, Ram Nagar, Bharatpur (Shaheed Dweep) and Radha Nagar (Swaraj Dweep). Encroachments in the shape of fencing and temporary structures were removed and an area of 39750 Sqmtrs of Govt. Land was restored.

Similarly the Tehsil Office, Little Andaman conducted eviction drive at Hut Bay and RJ Pur villages and restored an area of 7300 Sqmtrs in the Govt. Khata.

The District Administration has once again appealed to the general public to restrain from the Govt. Land and in the event of noticing any fresh encroachments, the same may be communicated to the District Control Room in the following numbers 031-2-240127/ 1070.
