Port Blair, Sept. 12: To commemorate the 75th year of Independence, various programs were organized under the theme "Azad ka Amrit Mahotsav". As part of the celebrations, ‘Fit India Freedom Run’ was held in Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands which was organized by NYK in association with Hindu Rashtra Sakti & NCC Unit IV (JNRM).

Amidst the restrictions for Covid spread, a whopping 100 persons registered for the run, which is quite unprecedented. The run was flagged off by Dr Rajiv Ghosh of ANIIMS.

Before commencing the run, Ghosh enlightened the participants with few words regarding the "Fitness dose" one has to follow every day to keep himself or herself fit. All the participants took pledge to follow the fitness dose and make the general public to follow the "Fitness Mantra".

On this occasion Dr. K. Venketesan, Associate Professor, JNRM, Dr. Sunita Patil, Vedanta Academy, Mr. Amar Kumar Singh, National Secretary (Hindu Rashtra Shakti), Mr Rakeshwar Lall, State President (HRS), Smti. D. Radhika (State General Secretary, HRS), Smti Taposi Shah (South Andaman, District President, HRS) and other dignitaries were present.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Gopal Ch Biswas of Nehru Yuva Kendra. All the participants were given "Certificate of Participation
