Port Blair, Sept. 14: As part of 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, the Department of Art & Culture organized a programme on the Life & Teachings of Sri Aurobindo at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya today. The objective of the programme was to create awareness among young generation about Sri Aurobindo's life, teachings and his spiritual journey.
As part of the programme, Dr. Rashida Iqbal, Assistant Director (Art & Culture) presented a brief introduction of the programme. Dr. Archana Gupta, Principal and Ms Manisha Verma, teacher of the school spoke on the life and teachings of Shri Aurobindo. An animated film titled ‘Sri Aurobindo-A New Dawn’ produced by Sri Aurobindo Society was also screened for the students of the school on the occasion. Ms Varsha Bijoune, Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra was also present. About 200 students and staff members were present on the occasion.
