Port Blair, Sept. 15: PS Ograbraj police successfully solved a burglary case and arrested the accused with complete recovery of the stolen gold ornaments. On 21/06/2023, a burglary was reported and a case was registered at PS Ograbraj regarding theft of gold ornaments weighing 35.5 grams Approx. from a house at Badmash Pahad, Chouldari.

The case was entrusted to HC/2336 Bijoy Sarkar, PS Ograbraj. After collecting evidences, the suspect was zeroed but was found to be absconding. During the investigation all the efforts were made to trace out the accused person by forming different teams. As a result of the sustained investigation involving both physical and technical analysis, the Police team was able to apprehend Sanjay Kumar Das S/o Shri Dhiren Das (38) yrs R/o Little Andaman, Hutbay, Rabindra Nagar who was in hiding at Subash Gram, Diglipur.

The Police team comprising HC/2336 Bijoy Sarkar, Investigation Officer, PC/1642 Rakesh Narayan, PC/1013 Biplob Das, PC/2190 Agassi Clinton, PC/1029 M Mohammed Arif formed under the command of SI Devanand Pathak, SHO, PS Ograbraj and under the overall supervision of Arshdeep singh Panwar SDPO Bamboo flat was able to track the accused. In a joint operation with PS Diglipur, the accused was apprehended and brought to Police station Ograbraj for further investigation. The accused on further interrogation disclosed the whereabouts of the stolen gold ornaments which were thereby recovered. The stolen gold ornaments worth approximately ₹  2,30,000/- have been recovered. Further investigation is being conducted.
