Port Blair, Sept. 19: The Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has highlighted several crucial issues of the Southern Group of Islands with the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration while submitting a letter to his office on Tuesday.

The emergent issues brought on record by Shri. Halder included Non-issuance of Islander Cards to people of Katchal, Kamorta, Terresa, Car Nicobar and Campbell Bay, Unavailability of Principal, Vice-Principal and Teachers in the schools of Nicobar District, Unavailability of Mortuary Vans in Kamorta Island,

Poor condition of Anganwadi Kendra’s in the villages of Katchal & Kamorta Island, No roads and footpaths in Tsunami Shelter of Katchal Island for movement of vehicles, Poor condition of street lights and water pipeline connection in Tsunami Shelter of Katchal & Kamorta  Island, No regular visit of specialized doctors to Southern Group of Islands, Non-filling of vacant posts under Tribal Quota, Non-Cleaning of Dam in Kamorta Island, Shortage of STS buses in Katchal and Kamorta Islands, Poor condition of the building of Katchal School and Non-Updation of Aadhaar Cards in Southern Group of Islands.

Concluding the letter, Shri. Halder urged the Chief Secretary to instruct the concerned officials to do the needful for the benefit of the populace of the Southern Group of Islands.
