Port Blair, Sept. 21: As a part of Ayushman Bhavah Campaign, Smti. Veditha Reddy, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, today graced the HWC Health Mela at Khetan Kalyan Mandapam, under UHC Junglighat along with Shri. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Add. District Magistrate (SA), Shri. Aziz Ur Rehman, Councillor, Ward No. 6, Dr, P.Lal, Nodal Officer, Ayushman Bharat, Dr. Vivin.V, HoD, Community Medicine, ANIIMS & Shri. B. Nagendra, Dist. Programme Manager, DHS (SA), where different Health units, Poshan unit & Police traffic awareness unit have been set up for community level awareness & other health services was also provided.

The Deputy Commissioner (SA) informed the gathering that the District Health Society, South Andaman in coordination with Directorate of Health Services and ANNIMS is conducting varies health activities under the Ayushman Bhavah campaign starting from 17th Sept. 2023 and has conducted Specialist Health Camp at CHC Bambooflat & Health Mela at all health centres of South Andaman District for awareness about various health care schemes to saturate critical health care services in rural and urban areas. The campaign will conclude on 2nd Oct. 2023 by Special Gram Sabha / Ward Sabha at all Panchayat & Municipal Ward.

The DC (SA) also presented certificates to eight Nikshay Mitra, who are providing the Nutrition Diet kits to the TB Patients and also presented the Mantri Jan ArogyaYojana (PM-JAY) Card by on spot registration to the beneficiary, which provides a cover of Rs. 5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization across public and private empanelled hospitals in India.

All general public have been asked to avail the benefits of Ayushman Bahavah campaign at their doorsteps. The eligible beneficiaries have been asked to bring valid documents such as Ration Card, Aadhaar Card & other IDs for registration under ABHA, PM-JAY, NCD clinic etc.

The Additional District Magistrate and Nodal Officer, Ayushman Bharat on the occasion informed about the three major component of the campaign:

1) Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0: All Health Centres shall create and issue PMJAY cards during the campaign at health centres & village level to the eligible beneficiaries.

2) Ayushman Mela: Specialist Health Camp will be conducted at CHCs in coordination with the Medical College (ANIIMS) to provide specialist services. All Health Centres of South Andaman Village Health Sanitation Committees (VHSCs) under rural area and Mahila Arogya Samitis (MAS) under urban area of South Andaman District will conduct weekly health mela mainly to focus on optimizing utilization of health care services and awareness generation. 

3) Ayushman Sabha: Special village level Sabha (Gram Sabha) for rural areas and Ward Sabha for urban areas led by Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Committee (VHSNC) and Mahila Arogya Samitis (MAS) will be conducted on 2nd October, 2023at all Panchayats & Municipal Wards to enhance awareness about various health care schemes and services including Ayushman cards, ABHA IDs, Immunization, RCH, NCD, TB patient identification etc.
