Port Blair, Sept. 21: The ANTCC President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has highlighted a great concern before the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration regarding the pending salaries of teachers employed under the elementary education scheme "Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA)" in A&N Islands.

In the letter, Halder expressed his displeasure over the Administration for not releasing the salaries of teachers for the past 3 months. He informed that such delay in payment has placed significant financial stress and hardships on these teachers and their families, affecting their livelihoods and overall well-being.

Moreover, he said that such issues have an intense and demoralizing effect on the teachers, as they are driven to poverty-like situations and yet perform their duty in debt.

"We understand that administrative processes can sometimes lead to delays in disbursing payments, but it is crucial to emphasize the critical role that SSA teachers play in the education sector. Their commitment to providing quality education to the students in our islands is commendable, and they deserve to be compensated in a timely manner for their services", mentioned Halder.

He reiterated that the SSA teachers have been doing their share of work with utmost sincerity and dedication.

The ANTCC President therefore requested the Chief Secretary to take necessary steps to disburse the pending salaries of teachers employed under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan on priority basis.
