Diglipur, Sept. 21: In a proactive move towards empowering the young women of the North & Middle Andaman district, District Police has launched "SWARAKSHA," a self-defence training initiative. This 10-day program is tailored to equip school and college girls with essential skills to ensure their safety and boost their self-confidence. "SWARAKSHA" initiative commenced on the 18th of September where three schools i.e. Senior Secondary School Rangat, Senior Secondary School Bakultala and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Panchwati, Rangat will be covered in first phase.

The program's primary objective is to impart self-defense techniques and knowledge to approximately 3000 female students in the District. In a world where personal safety is of paramount importance, this initiative takes a significant step towards fostering self-reliance and resilience among young women.

The North & Middle Andaman District Police believes that empowering girls with self-defense skills is a vital step towards creating a safer and more secure community. By equipping these young women with the tools and knowledge needed to protect themselves, "SWARAKSHA" hopes to instill a sense of confidence and independence that will serve them well throughout their lives.
