Port Blair, Sept. 26: The Committee on Subordinate Legislation of Lok Sabha headed by its Chairman, Shri Balashowry Vallabhaneni arrived here on a four-day visit to A&N Islands. The other members of Committee who arrived today include Shri N K Premachandran, Shri Chandeshwar Prasad, Shri Suresh Kumar Pujari and Dr. Amar Singh. Soon after arrival, the Committee proceed to Swaraj Dweep and held an informal discussion with the representatives of Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry on rules/regulations governing the organization at Hotel Taj Exotica. The other members of the Committee who are scheduled to arrive on Sept. 28 include Shri Su. Thirunavukkarasar, Shri Pinaki Misra, Shri Nama Nageswara Rao and Shri B Manickam Tagore.

The itinerary of the Committee for Sept. 27 include an informal discussion with the representatives of Shipping Corporation of India, Shyama Prasad Mookerjee Port Authority and Seamen's Provident Fund Organizations of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways on rules/regulations governing the organization,  informal discussion with the representatives of Andaman Lakshadweep Harbour Works of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways on rules/regulations governing the organization and informal discussion with the representatives of State Bank of India of the Ministry of Finance on rules/regulations governing the organization at Hotel Taj Exotica.

On Sept. 28, the Committee is scheduled to visit National Memorial Cellular Jail and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep. On Sept. 29, the Committee will hold informal discussion with the representatives of NTPC and NHPC of the Ministry of Power on rules/regulations governing the organization and informal discussion with the representatives of Bank of Baroda and Indian Bank of the Ministry of Finance on rules/regulations governing the organization.

On completion of the tour, the Committee is scheduled to return to mainland on September 30, 2023.
