Port Blair, Oct. 5: The contribution of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector to the economy in terms of GDP, exports and employment is substantial. For sustenance, growth and development of MSME, the Ministry of MSME and the A & N Administration implements various schemes and programmes. For availing benefit of these schemes/ programmes, the enterprise should have “Udyam Registration Certificate”

Registration on the Udyam Registration is a paperless process, based on self-declaration. Udyam Registration Certificate is also mandatory for priority sector lending by Banks.

In this backdrop, all the MSMEs set up in A & N Islands are encouraged to register themselves on Udyam Portal (url: udyamregistration.gov.in). It is informed that with the introduction of Udyam Registration, the earlier registration under various schemes such as SSI, Entrepreneurs Memorandums, Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum etc. are required to re-register under Udyam Registration.
