Kamorta, Oct. 12: The ICDS Nancowry (Tribal Project) under the Directorate of Social Welfare organized an awareness program on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Government Senior Secondary School, Champin. The program aimed to educate children about the law and protect them from sexual offences besides promoting awareness about good and bad touch.

Led by the Mukhya Sevika, in coordination with officials from the Police Department and Health Department, the program was conducted in various Government Schools of the Nancowry groups of Islands under the ICDS Tribal Project Nancowry. Approximately 130 students participated in the programme. During the program, students were made aware of the importance of the POCSO Act and its relevance in normal life. They were also educated about distinguishing between good and bad touch, with a focus on empowering them to recognize and protect themselves from potential abuse.
