Port Blair, Oct. 16: An Environment Awareness Rally was organised to celebrate the 92nd Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on 16th October 2023. The Rally was jointly organised by JNRM and Lions Club Port Blair.
The main Function was organised at the Old Flag Point opposite to Andaman Club, Netaji Stadium. The President MJF Lion Rajaguru.T and other members of Lion Club and the Chief Guest of the Programme Dr. H.K. Sharma, Principal JNRM paid floral tribute to the portrait of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The Chief Guest in his address spoke on the life and contribution of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam as a Great Scientist and also the President of India.
Dr. Kandimuthu, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics JNRM also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, MJF Lion Rajaguru. T, President Lions Club of Port Blair in his welcome remarks highlighted the importance of Environment Awareness and vision of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam for a developed India.
After the Floral tribute programme the Chief Guest flagged off the rally on Environment Awareness from Andaman Club. The rally passing through the Clock Tower, Bengali Club, Gandhi Statue and again Clock Tower, culminated at Andaman Club. The office bearers and members of Lions Club of Port Blair also participated in the Rally.
