Port Blair, Oct. 27: In a concerted effort to combat the production and distribution of illicit liquor in the Kishorinagar and surrounding areas, a joint police team from OP Kishorinagar and PS Kalighat conducted extensive jungle searches in the Talbagan and Paschimsagar regions.

The team discovered approximately 1000 liters of lahen hidden within the jungle of Paschimsagar and Talbagan. The contraband was found in various containers, viz. plastic drum, bucket & plastic jerrican. The recovered illicit lahan and involved utensils were destroyed on the spot.

The successful operation demonstrates the dedication of our law enforcement personnel to curb the production and distribution of illegal liquor in North & Middle Andaman. These efforts not only disrupt the illegal liquor trade but also contribute to maintaining law and order in the region. The entire operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO PS Kalighat, vigilant supervision of Shri. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur and the overall direction and Supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District. The team consisted of ASI Buddhiswar Haldar, HC V. Saji Kumar, PCs Sushil Sarkar, Irenious, and Balaji
