Port Blair, Nov. 2: As part of the Vigilance Awareness Week-2023, IGNOU Regional Centre, Port Blair has organized talk on the topic “Say No to Corruption; Commit to the Nation”.  On this occasion the Chief Guest Col Aravind Varma, IPoS, Post Master General, Andaman & Nicobar Islands has delivered a lecture.

In his address, Col Aravind Varma appealed to the staff and learners of the IGNOU, Regional Centre, Port Blair to make joint efforts to eradicate corruption. Further he reiterated that awareness building about Interest Disclosure Public and Protection of Informers (PIDPI) resolution is basically to create awareness in the public domain about the ill effects of corruption. The Chief Guest dwell upon at large about PIDPI in details and also throw light on existing mechanism, if any complaint is made under PIDPI, the identity of the complaint is kept confidential and further the complaint is protected from victimization for make such complaints.

He also narrated examples of corruption in public life and appealed the staff and learners to be vigilant and to maintain honesty and transparency in every sphere of their life and to make collective efforts for the upliftment of the organization and contribute towards the development of the nation.

Earlier Dr. RVR Murthy, Regional Director, IGNOU, RC, Port Blair welcomed the gathering and in his introductory remarks exhorted that eradication of corruption from every sphere of life is need of the hour.

On 2nd November a concluding programme observed with the theme of Awareness building about Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI) resolution. As part of it the Chief Guest Col Aravind Varma, IPoS, Post Master General, Andaman & Nicobar Islands delivered a special lecture on Vigilance Awareness.
