Diglipur, Nov. 14: Police Station Diglipur once again showed their mettle that they are going tough against drug peddlers. Keeping sharp vigil over the antisocial activities under the jurisdiction, acting on a tip-off, on 14/11/2023 a dedicated team from PS Diglipur led by Inspr. K.Binoj, SHO PS Diglipur, HC Santosh Kr. Nair, PCs Abubacker Siddique, Devsai Toppo, Radhesham Hawlader, Soma Dey, Mirthunjoy Das & Ct Pawan Singh along with independent witnesses reached near Mourice Tikrey and hid themselves.

After sometimes the suspected motor cycle alongwith a rider and the pillion rider were seen approaching towards Mourice Tikrey. Immediately the raiding team intercepted the suspect motor cycle and conducted personal search of both the accused persons. During the search 1.105 kgs of illicit ganja was recovered from their possession.

Both the accused persons namely Bibash Mondal S/o Shri Vikash Mondal (18) yrs R/o Laxmipur, Diglipur and Sushankar Das S/o Shri. Amal Das (23) yrs R/o Laxmipur, Diglipur were immediately arrested and a case under appropriate section of NDPS Act was registered.

During the course of investigation, the arrested accused persons revealed that they had brought the ganja from one Pradeep Kumar Biswas of Billiground area. Acting swiftly, the Police party proceeded to Billiground and recovered 390 grms of ganja from one person namely Pradeep Kumar Biswas S/o Shri. Ganesh Chandra Biswas (23) yrs. R/o Hari Nagar, Billground and arrested the accused and brought to PS Diglipur.

The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of Shri. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur and overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District. The North & Middle Andaman District Police continues its mission to ensure a secure and drug-free environment for all residents.
