Port Blair, Nov. 14: The 42nd Edition of India International Trade Fair has come alive on November 14, 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, marking the commencement of a two week-long extravaganza, showcasing the best of global trade and commerce on the theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam- United by Trade’ which emphasizes Global Unity through Commerce. The event is being participated by 28 States and Union Territories including Andaman & Nicobar Islands on the promise and vibrant display of diversity and business acumen until November 27, 2023.

The fair aims to provide a platform for businesses from diverse sectors to network, collaborate, and explore opportunities for sustainable growth. The event will attract staggering footfall estimated over 10 lakh people in a day. The extensive spread of the Fair encompasses 110,000 sq. mts. hosting nearly 3500 exhibitors from both India and abroad. Representatives from 13 Countries, including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Oman, Egypt and UAE are effectively engaging in this event.

IITF 2023 promises to be a melting pot of ideas, innovation, and investment opportunities, reinforcing India's position as a key player in the global economic landscape. The event will run from November 14 to November 27, offering a unique platform for economic dialogue and collaboration on an international scale. The Fair was inaugurated by Smt. Anupriya Patel, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and presided over by Shri Som Parkash, Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry in the august gathering of international delegates, representatives from participating States and Industries. In her inaugural address, Smt. Anupriya Patel emphasized the Government's commitment to promoting a conducive business environment and fostering economic inclusivity. Shri Som Parkash dwelt on the facilities created by ITPO for making this event hassle free.

The Andaman & Nicobar Islands, a jewel in India's maritime landscape, have also joined the event in big way and erected its pavilion in the first floor of Hall No.3. The Pavilion depicted and showcased the archipelago and its unique blend of cultural diversity, eco-tourism, and economic opportunities. In line with other States/UTs, the Andaman & Nicobar Pavilion at International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023 was inaugurated today by Shri Kuldeep Singh Thakur, Special Resident Commissioner, New Delhi.

The Andaman & Nicobar pavilion, adorned with traditional art and exhibits, is drawing attention to the islands' rich cultural heritage, biodiversity, and investment potential. With a focus on sustainable development, the display highlights the region's commitment to eco-friendly practices and responsible tourism.
