Port Blair, Nov. 15: On the occasion of the 148th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder and ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker along with the party cadres paid homage to the legendary tribal freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
The Congress leaders visited the office of Ranchi Association and paid tribute to Lord Birsa Munda by garlanding his statue. They remembered the contributions of Birsa Munda in leading the tribal movement against the exploitative systems of British Colonial Government and for encouraging the tribals to understand their cultural roots and observe unity.
The Congress Party also installed a stall in front of Gandhi Bhawan, Port Blair and served refreshments to the people who participated in the rally organized by Ranchi Association to commemorate the day.
