Port Blair, Nov. 17: NTPC Port Blair organized a State Level Painting Competition on ‘Energy Conservation’ on behalf of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The painting competition was conducted under the National Campaign on Energy Conservation, launched by the Ministry of Power, to promote energy conservation in the country. The competition is an exemplary effort to provide a platform to the students to showcase their creativity while making them aware about Energy Conservation. 

The painting competition on Energy Conservation was first conducted at the School Level for Class V, VI & VII in Group-A and Class VIII, IX & X in Group-B. Over 3700 students competed for the school level competition, out of which, 50 students from each Group were invited for State level Painting Competition held at Marine Community Hall, Port Blair.

The chief guest, Shri Prashant Kumar, Director, Power and Shri Aditya Kumar Jha, Director, Education awarded the winners of the competition. 

Winners in the Group A categories are – First prize winner Edel Baxla (Nirmala Senior Secondary School) Second Prize: Haashi Mistry (GSS Nimbutala), Third prize: Gyalpo Tamang (Navy Children School)

Winners in the Group B categories are – First prize winner Shifa Khatoon (GSSS School Line), Second Prize Nimisha S (St. Mary's School, Bathubasti), Third Prize Kavya Raj (Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya).

The winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd position of both the categories were given the prize of Rs. 50,000/-, Rs. 30,000/- & Rs 20,000/- respectively and Consolation prizes of Rs. 7,500/- each were also distributed to 20 participants of this event.

1st, 2nd and 3rd  prize winners of State Level Painting Competition will be invited to Delhi to participate in ‘National Level Painting Competition’ to be held on 11th December, 2023.
