Port Blair, Nov. 17: Highlighting the concern of candidates who appeared for various posts in A&N Police Department, the ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman, Mr. TSG Bhasker has written a letter to the Director General of Police, Shri. Devesh Chandra Srivastava, I.P.S on Tuesday, requesting him to reduce the cut off marks.

In the letter Bhasker said, “The Police Department had advertised for more than 300 posts in various categories and the exam and physical test for it were conducted accordingly”.

He said that the written exam was a little tough and many of the candidates could not reach the benchmark figure.

Bhasker highlighted that unemployment in the Islands is rising and the candidates who have applied for various posts are in dire necessity to get employed.

He also mentioned that as per the SOP, the cut of mark can be lowered by the DGP to the desired level so that the recruitment process of the remaining posts can be filled up.

Hence, he requested the DGP to lower down the cut off mark for various posts including the post of Sub-Inspector (Executive), Police Radio Operator and several other vacant posts so that the children of the Islands can get employment.
