Port Blair, Nov. 17: Project Management is a professional discipline with a body of knowledge and a specific set of skills and competencies. The world in which organizations operate today is rapidly becoming more complex than ever before. Project Management is essential to achieve project goals and objectives within the time and budget constraints. Financial Management will help sequentially planning and managing the finances of any Project or Program. Proper Financial Management provides quality fuel and regular service to ensure efficient functioning of an organization’s finance. It helps in making effective use of resources, fulfill commitments to stakeholders, gain competitive advantage and prepare for long-term financial stability to accomplish the financial objectives.

In an effort to upgrade the skills of various officials from Central & State Government Departments, Academic Institutions, PSUs, etc., National Productivity Council (NPC) a national level organization under Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India organizing various Residential Training Program in different locations throughout the country. Economic Services Group of NPC will be conducting one such Residential Training Program on “Project Management & Financial Management” during 20th -24th Nov. at Port Blair, A & N. There will be 19 participants from different PSUs, Academic Institutes, Corporations and various other Centre and State Departments.

Shri Rajesh Sund, Director (Economic Services), NPC, who is coordinator of the program and also faculty for Financial Management has specified that this Training Program has been conceptualized with the objective to provide understanding of acquiring insight into Project Planning, Implementation, Team, Roles and Responsibilities. Decisions regarding estimating overall Project Cost Management, Leading and Directing Projects and Teams. Participants will also be enabling the use of qualitative and quantitative tools and measures to distinguish the Key Financial Risks, Valuation Techniques and Tools for learning & developing unique strategies, implement correctly and set financial targets.

This Training Program will be a perfect balance of theoretical learning and hands-on practice and enables participants to develop the expertise to maintain project profitability and performance. The Training Program will utilise a range of learning methodologies, including short presentations with opportunity for question & answer, exercises & case studies to develop knowledge & skills, and group discussions for sharing opinions & experiences with your each other.
