Port Blair, Nov. 17: The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi released the 15th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme amounting to Rs. 18000 crore for more than eight crore farmers across the country during the event organized on the occasion of  Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas in Khunti District of Jharkhand. The PM-KISAN Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme introduced in February 2019 to help land-holding farmers throughout the nation with their financial needs. Under this initiative, farmers’ bank account linked to their Aadhaar numbers receive direct benefit transfers of Rs. 6000/- per year, divided into three equal installments.

During the 15th instalment release, Rs. 2.4164 crores was released benefiting 11027 eligible farmers of these Islands. So far, since the launch of the PM-KISAN scheme, Rs. 44.9658 crores have been released to the farmers of A&N Islands.

Since the Government of India has made eKYC, Aadhaar Seeding with Bank Account and Land Seeding Mandatory for all the PM-KISAN beneficiaries, it is requested to all the eligible PM-KISAN beneficiaries who have so far not done their e-KYC, Bank Account seeding with Aadhaar and Land Seeding to complete the process at the earliest.

Further, it is informed to all left out eligible farmers of these Islands who have so far not registered under the PM-KISAN scheme to enroll themselves and avail the benefits under the PM-KISAN scheme.
