Port Blair, Nov. 26: The State Child Production Society (SCPS) under the Directorate of Social Welfare, conducted an insightful program at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Wimberlygunj. Distinguished guests from the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), A&N Islands delivered impactful insights into crucial facets of Children's Rights. About 150 children participated in the programme.

The Hon’ble Judge, Shri Anupam Mukherjee, Ld. District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Service Authority, A&N Islands, emphasized on various aspects of Child Rights. He highlighted on significance of safeguarding and advocating for the Rights of Children.

Subsequently, Shri Bhawani Shankar Sharma, Ld. Additional District and Sessions Judge, Port Blair, elaborated on the Right to Education, Right to Participation, Right to Health and pertinent matters related to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO).

Smti Arkabrati Neogi, Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Port Blair-cum-Ld. Secretary, District Legal Service Authority, A&N Islands, highlighted on the ‘Bachpan Bachao Andolan’, providing valuable insights into the issues concerning child welfare. He addressed critical aspects for the wellbeing of the younger generation.

The Programme Manager, SCPS, discussed about ‘Mission Vatsalya’ initiative, focusing on promoting Child Welfare. She highlighted ongoing efforts to raise awareness about Children's Rights and emphasized initiatives aimed at contributing to their wellbeing.
