Car Nicobar, Nov. 28: As a part of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District flagged off the Van campaign for ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ at Car Nicobar. Shri Manjeet Sheoran, IPS Superintendent of Police Nicobar District and other line Department Officers were also present. The van was welcomed at Perka Village by the Tribal Community with their traditional cultural programme. The video screening of VBSY was held in the Priydarshini Hall and Sankalp Pledge was administrated to the local Tribal Leaders and villagers. The cultural programme on the theme of ‘Dharti Kahe Pukaar Ke’ was presented by the students of JNV, Car Nicobar to educate the gathering about the benefits of the ongoing schemes of Govt. of India for different categories of people. The focus of the Yatra is to reach out to people and create awareness and provide benefits of welfare schemes like Ujjwala LPG Connection, food security, proper nutrition clean drinking water etc.

During the programme, various line Departments provided on the spot services to the public, the Health Department conducted health check-up camp, TB screening while the Agriculture Department and KVK demonstrated about bio farming technology through ‘Satak Krishi’. Further, many individual beneficiaries shared the benefits and success stories of the schemes availed by them from the Govt. through ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’. The Health Card, Soil Health Card, Ujjwala registration etc. were distributed during the programme. Further, many prominent figures were felicitated for their extra ordinary contribution to the society in different fields by the chief guest, Ms. Jyoti Kumari, IAS Deputy Commissioner Nicobar. She urged the general public to avail on the spot services from this programme. Shri Singh Piyush Vijaykaran, Assistant Commissioner (HQ) informed that the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ will continue till 1st December, 2023 at different locations of Car Nicobar.
