Car Nicobar, Nov. 29: As part of ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ in Car Nicobar Block, the IEC Van reached Big Lapathy village today. The van was welcomed at Lapathy village by the Tribal Community with their traditional cultural programme. Shri Piyush V. Singh, Assistant Commissioner (HQ) Car Nicobar who was the chief guest of the programme addressed the gathering and urged the public to avail maximum benefits from the ongoing schemes of Govt. of India in order to achieve 100% saturation during the entire Yatra. The Schemes include the Ayushman Bharat PMJAY, PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana/NRLM, PM Awas Yojana (Rural). 

VBSY video was screened at Big Lapathy Community Hall and Sankalp Pledge was administered to the local Tribal leaders and villagers.  Cultural programme on the theme ‘Dharti Kahe Pukaar Ke’ was presented by the students of JNV, Car Nicobar to educate the gathering about the benefits of the ongoing schemes of Govt. of India.

Various line Departments provided on the spot services to the public.  The Health Department conducted health check-up camp, TB screening while the Agriculture Department and KVK demonstrated the bio farming technology through ‘Satak Krishi’. Further, many individual beneficiaries also shared the benefits and success stories of the schemes availed by them from the Govt. through ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’. The Assistant Commissioner (HQ) Car Nicobar also distributed tools kits, seeds from KVK, Health Cards by Health Department) Soil Health Card by Agriculture Department and KCC Card by Fisheries Department to the eligible beneficiaries.
