Port Blair, Nov. 30: The Hon’ble Prime Minster of India, Shri Narendra Modi came live to address the participants of Viksit Bharta Sankalp Yatra and encouraged them to avail the benefits of various schemes of GoI reaching to the respective Gram Panchayats/Villages through the Viksit Bharta Sankalp Yatra campaign. He assured that the Govt of India will try to reach out all the untouched poor families and provide them maximum benefits through various schemes so that the dream of Viksit Bharat may be achieved. He also interacted with the beneficiaries of selected areas and virtually launched two schemes namely ‘Namo Drone Didi Yojana’ and ‘PM Jan Aushadi Kendra’. The programme was witnessed by the general public and officials of all the Blocks.

The live program of Hon’ble Prime Minster of India was witnessed during a grand program on Viksit Bharta Sankalp Yatra held at Gram Panchayat Wimberlygunj under the Jurisdiction of CD Block Ferrargunj of South Andaman District. The program was graced by Smti. Veditha Reddy, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman as chief guest along with Shri Waiokpam Punshiba Singh, IAS (P) as guest of honour. Shri Venkat Ram Babu, Pradhan, GP Wimberlygunj along with PRI members and the Panchayat Secretary accorded a warm welcome to the IEC Van of Viksit Bharta Sankalp Yatra and organized various programs for the Viksit Bharta Sankalp Yatra campaign.

On the occasion, a welcome song was presented by the students of Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Wimberlygunj followed by screening of live telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India’s program. The Pradhan, GP Wimberlygunj welcomed the chief guest and also administered the 'Sankalp Pledge’ to the gathering.

The Deputy Commissioner distributed ‘Soil Health Cards’ and ‘Revenue Cards’ to the beneficiaries. Also, PM Nikshay Mitras namely Dr. Geeta, Medical Officer (Ayush), Health & Wellness Centre, Wimberlygunj and Shri Abdul Salam, SKSSF (NGO), Wimberlygunj were felicitated by the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, the chief guest explained the importance of the Yatra as an effective mode to reach out to the general public and make them aware about various Welfare schemes of the Central Government. She urged the gathering to disseminate information about various schemes of GoI being implemented in the Islands, so that all left out persons could be covered and provided with the benefits of schemes. She visited all the stalls of various Departments and requested them to apprise the public about the benefits of their schemes.

The programme was concluded by vote of thanks proposed by the Pradhan, GP Wimberlygunj.
