Car Nicobar, Nov. 30: The IEC (Information, Education and Communication) Van reached Mus Village today as part of ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’. The Van was welcomed at Mus Village by the Village Captains and all local Tribal people in their traditional way. Shri Philip Harold, Captain of Mus village, Car Nicobar was the chief guest of the programme. Smt. Jenifer Lionel, lady representative of Mus village welcomed the gathering.

The live programme of ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India was also screened at the venue. The live interaction programme of PM was witnessed by huge gathering of Local Tribal community and school students. The VBSY video was screened at Mus Community Hall and the Sankalp pledge was administrated to the local tribal leaders and all villagers. A cultural programme on the theme ‘Dharti Kahe Pukaar Ke’ was presented by the students of JNV on the theme natural farming and harmful effects of chemical fertilizer in farming.

The Village Captains, Shri Philip Harold, Benedick Jeremiah, Smt. Jenifer Lionel and Shri Cephas, Statistical Officer, DC Office distributed various Certificates / Health Cards to the public. Various line Departments also provided on the spot services to the public. Further, many individual beneficiaries shared the benefits and success stories of the schemes availed by them from the Government through ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubani’.

Smti Latitia of Mus village while proposing the vote of thanks expressed gratitude to the District Administration, Nicobar for organising VBSY programme at Mus village and providing opportunities to the local community to avail on the spot services of GoI’s going Scheme. She also expressed gratitude to the District Administration for facilitating live screening of the programme of the Hon’ble Prime Minister in their village.
