Port Blair, Nov. 30: The One Stop Centre, South Andaman, a scheme under Directorate of Social Welfare, Andaman & Nicobar Administration organized an outreach programme at various places viz. State Transport Service Bus Terminus, Mohanpura, Chattam and Bambooflat jetties and Sunday Market, Junglighat from November 23 to 26, 2023. The program was organized to create awareness amongst the general public especially focusing on women participants to make them aware of the One Stop Centre Scheme of Government of India.

During the outreach program.  Smti. Meenal Rajan, Case Worker, One Stop Centre briefed the passengers of bus, boat, vendors and buyers about functioning of One Stop Centre and highlighted the services of One Stop Centre under one roof such as (Police, Medical, Psychological Counseling, Legal and Temporary Shelter).While exchanging of information among women passengers, they were briefed about the comprehensive legislation to protect women from all forms of domestic violence by the husband or any of his relatives. Domestic violence is subjected to any kind of physical, sexual, mental, verbal, or emotional assault.

Similar program was held at Sunday Market, during which, Shri Anish Badaik, Para Legal Personnel/Lawyer, One Stop Centre, briefed the women buyers about Rights of Women, Right to Free Legal Aid, Right Against Domestic Violence, Right to not to be arrested at night.

In addition, pamphlets on different languages about integrated services relating to One Stop Centre were also distributed among passengers and buyers of different areas of South Andaman so as to reach out to the masses about the services. An interactive session was also organized to share details to the people regarding the services offered by One Stop Centre which is located near AYUSH Hospital, Type V, Qtr Number JG-6 and contact number of One Stop Centre 03192-234221 to enable the public to access the services.
