Port Blair, Dec. 1: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) President, Shri. Rangalal Halder addressed a letter to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration urging a reconsideration in the number of vacancies published for the Post Graduate Teacher (Bengali) position in the Education Department.

In his letter, Halder highlighted a significant disparity between the total vacancies recently published for PGT (Bengali). He said that the comprehensive report prepared by the education department indicates 09 vacancies of the PGT (Bengali) but it has officially mentioned only 01 vacancy for recruitment.

He emphasized the discrepancy's gravity, particularly in presence of 17 Senior Secondary Schools in A & N Islands with Bengali medium. He said that the stark difference between the reported number of schools and the published job opportunity is a cause for concern among aspiring candidates.

In consideration of these concerns, Halder urged the Chief Secretary to intervene promptly and conduct a thorough review and reassessment of the actual number of vacancies available for the PGT (Bengali) position.
