Port Blair, Dec. 1: A three-day training program for Medical Officers (Allopathy) was organised from 29th November to 1st December, 2023 at AYUSH Hospital, Port Blair. The training focused on enhancing the participants' knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and management of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).

More than 20 Medical Officers from various health institutions across the UT actively participated in this enriching initiative, reaffirming their commitment to improving healthcare outcomes.

The training commenced with a ceremonial inaugural function by lighting the lamp Dr. Pragya Sharma, Director ANIIMS, and Dr. Shiny Varghese, Nodal Officer, NP-NCD symbolizing the enlightenment of medical knowledge.

Experienced faculties from GB Pant and ANIIMS conducted insightful sessions with interactive discussions, case studies, and hands-on learning experiences on a wide array of NCDs, including Diabetes, Hypertension, Stroke, Oral Cervical and Breast Cancer, Management of COPD, CKD, STEMI, NAFLD, and the diagnosis and management of various lifestyle diseases.

Interactive yoga sessions were conducted by Yoga instructors focused on aligning physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques tailored specifically to address the challenges associated with NCDs.

The successful culmination of the training was marked by the distribution of certificates to participants by Dr. Suja Antony, Director of Health Services, and Dr. Pragya Sharma, Director ANIIMS who expressed their appreciation for the initiative.
