Port Blair, Dec. 1: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded for extension of the last date for original certificate verification for candidates who have successfully qualified in various examinations across different departments.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament highlighted the stipulated deadline for certificate verification is set for December 2, 2023.

He pointed out that unforeseen circumstances have arisen due to the cancellation of the M. V. Nalanda ship's sailing to Campbell Bay on November 28, 2023, owing to inclement weather conditions. The next scheduled sailing for Campbell Bay is on December 5, 2023.

The Member of Parliament pointed out that given the limited seating capacity in the Helicopter service and the prioritization of seats for emergency situations, many candidates who have qualified in the exams and followed the advice of the A & N Administration to verify their original certificates have already booked tickets to Port Blair from Inter Islands, intending to reach Port Blair by the next available ship.

In light of these circumstances, the Member of Parliament has requested the intervention to extend the last date for certificate verification.

He said that this extension is necessary to ensure that qualified candidates from Campbell Bay and other Islands have sufficient time to reach Port Blair by the next available ship and complete the necessary verification processes.
