Port Blair, Dec. 4: In response to mounting concerns raised by a significant number of residents from Tushnabad and surrounding areas, the Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded an Additional Lab Assistant for PHC Tushnabad.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, the Member of Parliament mentioned that the PHC Tushnabad is grappling with a shortage of Lab Assistants, with only one personnel currently handling essential blood test sample collections. This deficiency has resulted in substantial delays, inconveniencing patients who are compelled to revisit the facility after 3 to 4 days for sample collection. Given the high volume of patients, averaging nearly 200 per day, the lone Lab Assistant is facing considerable challenges in meeting the healthcare demands of the community.

In light of these pressing circumstances, the Member of Parliament has requested the Chief Secretary to urgently expedite the posting of an additional Lab Assistant at PHC Tushnabad.
